The December cold is not a reason to hibernate, especially when Walibi Belgium puts on its finest winter coat for the third edition of Walibi Winter. From December 6, 2025, to January 4, 2026, the park transforms into a veritable fairy tale, promising moments of pure magic, thrills, and conviviality at the heart of eight enchanting worlds inspired by the magnificent landscapes of the Great North.
More than just a winter opening, Walibi Winter is an event in its own right, refined year after year to offer an ever more immersive experience. Our cross-analysis of the park's official announcements and the enthusiastic—but also constructive—feedback from the previous edition (2024) paints the picture of an unmissable event for families and lovers of gentle thrills, highlighting a constantly renewed ambition in decoration, atmosphere, and the activity offering.
The Great North Settles in Wavre – The Eight Enchanted Zones 2025
For the 2025 edition, Walibi Belgium makes a strong impression by increasing the number of decorated zones to eight, adding a brand new immersive world: Northern Dock. This expansion testifies to the park's commitment to meeting visitors' expectations for an extended and seamless winter atmosphere, a point that had been raised by observers last year.
Northern Dock: The New Enchanted Harbor
The major novelty of Walibi Winter 2025 is undoubtedly Northern Dock. This brand new zone is designed to immerse visitors in the atmosphere of an immersive Scandinavian port. Illuminated lighthouses, animated docks, icy shores, and fishing huts adorned with sparkling decorations make up this maritime world. The addition of this zone also holds special significance for thrill-seekers, as it is the setting for the brand new family roller coaster, the Mecalodon, celebrating the park's 50th anniversary. Riding this new coaster amidst the winter lights and scenery promises a unique experience, blending the wonder of Christmas magic with adrenaline accessible to all.
A Journey Through Seven Other Worlds
Around this new harbor area, visitors will find the must-sees that made previous editions successful, each offering a specific atmosphere and activities:
- Glowing Greetings: The Wonder of the Entrance From the very first steps, the atmosphere is set. This reception area, praised for its exceptional level of decoration in 2024, is adorned with Christmas trees, lights, and giant nutcrackers. A highlight, according to feedback, is the nighttime exit, where the entirely illuminated entrance offers one last moment of enchantment.
- Frozen Land: The XXL Indoor Ice Rink The heart of the sliding magic, Frozen Land offers a 700 m² indoor ice rink. Beginner or experienced, skating is free (with skate rental) and the space is complemented by a bar for refreshments.
- Alpin Village: The Gourmet Heart of Winter This mountain setting is the scene of the park's large Christmas Market. This is where comforting delights and gourmet food stalls are found. This area links up with the themed dining area of previous years, where the cozy atmosphere of the mountain chalet was particularly appreciated.
- Polar Playground: Meeting with Santa Claus A colorful space specially dedicated to the youngest visitors. Santa Claus himself is present to listen to wishes and share warm moments, ensuring children's wonder.
- Chocolate Factory: The Thrill of Sliding This zone is dedicated to one of the flagship activities: the sledding run. With six tracks specially designed for a unique sliding experience on tubes or sleds (activity also free), it replicates the concept of the "Sugar Rush" from 2024, which had been a popular novelty.
- Festive Tropics: The Ice Show Let yourself be carried away by the grand ice show. The zone offers a captivating show with ten skaters, sparkling costumes, and breathtaking acrobatics. The 2024 edition saw the Enchanted show moved to the Tiki Theater, offering a large, high-quality venue, an initiative praised by critics.
- Twinkle Town: The Iconic Giant Christmas Tree This cowboy village comes alive around the imposing Dalton Terror, transformed for the occasion into a huge luminous Christmas tree. Feedback from last year unanimously highlighted the splendor of this nighttime transformation, with light shows, snow effects, and lasers creating a moment of spectacular wonder.
Review of the Previous Edition – Feedback from Winter 2024
The 2024 edition of Walibi Winter, well-documented by visitors, established a solid foundation for the success of 2025. The general consensus of reviews, particularly that of the Park Trips channel, was very positive, praising the quality of the event despite a few points for improvement.
Confirmed Highlights
Atmosphere and Decorations: The effort put into the theming is the most applauded point. The decorations are judged "even more" extensive than previous years, particularly at the entrance (Glowing Greetings). Visitors appreciate the total immersion, which makes the visit "highly enjoyable."
The Dalton Terror Night Experience: The transformation of the attraction into a giant Christmas tree (Twinkle Town) was a true highlight of the day, described as "super well done" and "really nice," especially thanks to the synchronized light shows.
Operations and Crowds: The low level of waiting time made it possible to enjoy the day "super pleasantly" and "calmly," even for major attractions like Kondaa or Loup Garou. Interactions with the park staff (Cast Members) were judged "superb."
The Show: The relocation of the ice show (Enchanted) to the Tiki Theater, a large venue normally underutilized, was a wise decision. Although criticism noted a slight lack of "storytelling," the show was judged "nice to watch" and allowed for a "good half hour" indoors.
Areas for Improvement and 2025 Expectations
The 2024 edition also highlighted areas where the customer experience could be improved, and the 2025 edition seems to address them in part:
The Culinary Offering: The all-you-can-eat fondue/raclette restaurant (the equivalent of Pizz'Avalanche in 2025) received mixed reviews. While the setting—a warm and well-decorated chalet—was "great," the culinary experience itself was judged "average," "not great," and "too industrial." Furthermore, the service was described as "slow" and "a bit understaffed." For 2025, the park is now offering a "delicious mountain pizza" at Pizz'Avalanche in addition to the Christmas Market at Alpin Village, suggesting perhaps a revision or diversification of the offering to ensure better satisfaction.
The Extent of Decoration: Although the general atmosphere is excellent, last year's review noted that some older and more remote areas, such as the vicinity of Kondaa, remained "a little bit empty" and "dark" at night. The introduction of the new Northern Dock zone in 2025, and the ambition to reach eight decorated worlds, should logically fill these gaps, ensuring end-to-end immersion throughout the park.
Activities and Thrills in the Heart of Winter
Walibi Winter is not just about decorations; the park offers a program of winter activities and maintains the opening of its major attractions, with some adjustments dictated by cold weather and safety.
Must-Do Free Activities
Visitors will fully enjoy the winter activities, most of which are included in the entrance price:
- Ice Rink (Frozen Land): 700 m² of ice for swirling.
- Sledding Runs (Chocolate Factory): Fun descent on tubes across six tracks.
- Meeting with Santa Claus (Polar Playground): A privileged moment for children.
- Enchanted Show and Festive Adventure 4D Film: Two productions to warm up while marveling.
Open and Closed Attractions
Attractions designated as "winter" or indoor remain open, including the new Mecalodon coaster and the thrill rides in the Twinkle Town zone like the Dalton Terror (giant Christmas tree) or the Cobra. 2024 visitors were also able to enjoy the excellent Wooden Coaster Loup Garou or the Mega Coaster Kondaa with minimal wait times.
However, it is important to note, as every year, the closure of attractions that cannot operate during periods of frost or cold: Radja River, Vampire, and Flash Back will be closed for the season.
Walibi's Magical Winter 2025
Walibi Winter 2025 promises to be the culmination of this winter event in Belgium. Building on the success of the previous edition, which charmed visitors with the extent and quality of its illuminations, a renewed show, and a serene, uncrowded atmosphere, the park is raising the bar even higher.
The introduction of the Northern Dock zone and the new Mec
