The world of theme parks has just experienced an earthquake. On December 31, 2025, after years of anticipation and massive construction projects, Six Flags Qiddiya City officially opened its doors in Saudi Arabia. Located just 40 minutes from Riyadh, this park is not content with being the first Six Flags outside North America: it completely redefines the boundaries of engineering and thrills.
With shattered world records, immersive themed lands, and a spectacular integration into the desert cliffs, Six Flags Qiddiya is the new essential destination for any self-respecting "coaster enthusiast." Here is everything you need to know before booking your flight.
The Attractions: Where Records Fall
Six Flags Qiddiya City is not a park like any other. It was designed with one obsession: to be the biggest, the highest, and the fastest. The park offers 28 attractions, including 5 major world records.
Falcon’s Flight: The Roller Coaster of All Superlatives
It is the absolute star of the park. Manufactured by Intamin, Falcon’s Flight is officially the world's tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster.
- Top speed: 250 km/h.
- Maximum height: 195 meters (the equivalent of a 60-story building).
- Length: 4.2 kilometers of track.
The highlight: The great dive from the top of Qiddiya's natural cliff. To protect passengers from the speed and desert sand, the trains are equipped with special curved windscreens. It is a unique "Exa Coaster" experience in the world.
Sirocco Tower: A Dazzling Free Fall
If you don't suffer from vertigo, the Sirocco Tower awaits you. It is the world's tallest free-fall tower (shot tower), peaking at 145 meters in height. The propulsion skyward is as brutal as the descent that follows, offering a breathtaking view of the entire Qiddiya complex before plunging into the void.
Iron Rattler: The Next-Generation Tilt Coaster
Inspired by the famous coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Qiddiya's Iron Rattler is a Vekoma "Tilt Coaster." The train stops abruptly at the edge of a precipice, the track tilts 90 degrees vertically, and you remain suspended facing the void for a few seconds before being released. It is the world's tallest coaster of this type.
Other Major Attractions:
- Spitfire: A triple launch coaster (magnetic propulsion) that holds the record for the highest inversion in the world.
- Gyrospin: The tallest pendulum ride (Frisbee) ever built, reaching 53 meters high.
- Colossus: A massive hybrid roller coaster (wood and steel), designed by GCI, offering more than 32 moments of airtime.
Six Immersive Themed Lands
The park covers 32 hectares and is divided into six distinct atmospheric zones, blending Arabian heritage and futurism.
- The City of Thrills: This is the beating heart of the park, home to Falcon’s Flight and Sirocco Tower. The design resembles a futuristic metropolis inspired by the Saudi vision for 2030.
- Discovery Springs: An aquatic oasis in the middle of the desert. This zone focuses on water play, waterfalls, and rivers, notably featuring the interactive dark ride Into the Deep.
- Steam Town: A "Steampunk" universe where mechanics reign supreme. Here you find the Iron Rattler and attractions revolving around industrial inventions.
- Twilight Gardens: The zone dedicated to families and younger guests. It is an oversized enchanted garden with milder attractions like the Twilight Express.
- Valley of Fortune: Inspired by architectural ruins and adventurers, this land houses the Spitfire coaster and "treasure hunt" type experiences.
- Grand Exposition: A tribute to past world exhibitions, blending nostalgia and innovation. It features the famous Arabian Carousel with sculpted horses and camels.
Reviews and Feedback: What Visitors Are Saying
Since the opening at the end of December 2025, the first reviews have been pouring in. On specialized forums and social media, the enthusiasm is palpable, even if a few teething adjustments have been noted.
The positive points:
- The sensation of speed: Visitors describe Falcon’s Flight as an "out of the ordinary" experience. The feeling of diving from the top of a cliff at 250 km/h is described as much more intense than on Formula Rossa in Abu Dhabi.
- The theming: Unlike some classic Six Flags parks, Qiddiya City benefited from a colossal budget for theming. The decorations are rich, detailed, and highly "Instagrammable."
- Heat management: Many feared the climate. The park installed massive misting systems and numerous air-conditioned spaces, making the visit enjoyable even in direct sunlight.
Areas for improvement:
- Wait times: As with any major opening, queues for Falcon’s Flight can exceed 3 hours. The "GoFast Pass" system is highly recommended.
- Access: The Qiddiya complex is still under development. Although the park is open, the surrounding hotel infrastructure (East Village) is still in the complete finalization phase.
How to Get There? Practical Information
Location
Six Flags Qiddiya is located approximately 40-45 kilometers west of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Transport
- By Car / Taxi: This is the simplest way. From the center of Riyadh, allow about 40 minutes via the Makkah Road highway. Ride-sharing services like Uber and Careem work perfectly.
- Shuttles: Special shuttles are provided from Riyadh's main transport hubs (airport and main metro stations).
- Future Metro: Eventually, an extension of the Riyadh Metro should directly serve Qiddiya City.
Prices (2026 Estimates)
- Adult: Approximately 330 SAR (approx. €82).
- Child: Approximately 280 SAR (approx. €70).
- Fast Pass (GoFast): Highly recommended, starting from 200 SAR depending on attendance.
Why Qiddiya is the Future of Entertainment?
Six Flags Qiddiya is only the first piece of a much larger puzzle. The Qiddiya City project aims to become the world capital of sport and entertainment. Right next to the park, you will soon find:
- Aquarabia: The largest water park in the Middle East (scheduled to open during 2025/2026).
- A Formula 1 track: Some corners of which will literally pass under the rails of Falcon’s Flight.
- Futuristic stadiums and e-sport zones.
Should You Go?
If you are a theme park enthusiast, the answer is a resounding YES. Six Flags Qiddiya City doesn't just break records; it offers an immersive experience that rivals the best Disney or Universal parks, while maintaining the "adrenaline" DNA of Six Flags.
It is a trip that requires organization (Saudi visa, flight to Riyadh), but for the chance to ride the first "Exa Coaster" in history, the detour is well worth it.
