Walibi Rhône Alpes
Walibi theme parks are undergoing a major transformation. Compagnie des Alpes is hard at work transforming the parks and giving them an identity. Walibi Rhône Alpes is a small theme park in the South East of France. This park opened in 1979 under the name Avenir Land and it was in 1989 that it took the name Walibi Rhônes Alpes. Originally, the theme park had a Far West theme (a bit like Fraispertuis) before now evolving into different thematic zones.
Inside the park is a water park called Aqualibi which opened in 1986.
The new attractions and its new theming give it a fresh look and make it highly interesting for theme park fans. With Timber, the wooden roller coaster, and Mystic, the roller coaster with its vertical lift and backward section, the theme park is worth a detour if you are in the region.
With its bright colours and new theming, Walibi Rhône Alpes is a resolutely joyful and positive theme park, which perfectly matches Park Trips. We particularly love the theming of the New Orleans area with its accents reminiscent of Port Orleans French Quarter at Walt Disney World.
The park is really well thought out because the main attractions are spread around the central lake, allowing the crowd to disperse throughout the park as soon as visitors enter.
