Vulcania is a unique theme park in France, located in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park. History and Development

Vulcania opened its doors in 2002. The park was designed to highlight the exceptional natural heritage of the Auvergne region, particularly the Chaîne des Puys. Its location in the commune of Saint-Ours-les-Roches, within an ancient lava flow, deeply anchors the park in its geological environment. Since its opening, the park has regularly evolved to offer new experiences and technologies, thus remaining relevant in its mission of popularizing science about volcanoes and the Earth.

The Vulcania Offer

Vulcania's main offering lies in its theme park focused on volcanoes and Earth sciences. It offers various attractions, including large-format films, dynamic simulators, interactive exhibitions, and immersive experiences that allow visitors to feel the power of natural phenomena. Regarding accommodation, Vulcania does not have integrated hotels on the park site itself, but lodging options are available in the immediate vicinity and surrounding areas, through partnerships or via the local offer. The park also offers educational animations and activities throughout the season.

Located in the heart of the Chaîne des Puys, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the surroundings of Vulcania are of exceptional natural richness. The park is an ideal starting point for exploring the surrounding volcanoes, notably the famous Puy de Dôme, accessible by a rack railway offering spectacular panoramic views.
