Six Flags acquired the park in 1977 and integrated it into its portfolio of amusement parks. Over the decades, the complex has expanded with the addition of major new attractions, including some of the world's tallest and fastest roller coasters, as well as the opening of a distinct water park, Hurricane Harbor.

Adjacent to the theme park is Hurricane Harbor, a seasonal water park accessible separately or via a combined ticket, offering water slides and wave pools. The complex also includes the Wild Safari, which allows visitors to discover exotic animals. The complex also offers shows and seasonal events.
