Papéa Parc
Located in Yvré-l'Évêque, near Le Mans, Papéa Parc is known as the largest amusement park in the Pays de la Loire region. Founded in 1971, this family park has evolved over the decades to offer today around forty attractions and activities designed to entertain all generations. Its name, Papéa, is actually an acronym for "Amusement Park for children and adults", reflecting its desire to offer pleasures for everyone.
Ambiance and setting of the park
The atmosphere at Papéa Parc is that of a family park on a human scale, offering a day of relaxation and entertainment in a pleasant setting. The park benefits from a natural environment, bordering the Huisne river. The theming varies depending on the area, with, for example, a Western Village that transports visitors to the world of cowboys with its typical scenery and skill games. Other areas are more generic or focused on specific themes for the attractions. The general atmosphere is friendly, conducive to moments shared with family or friends. Shows, such as a circus show under the big top, regularly liven up the days and reinforce this festive atmosphere.
Attractions for young and old
Papéa Parc offers a diverse range of attractions, from rides for the youngest to thrills for adrenaline junkies, as well as attractions for the whole family. Among the thrill rides are the Speedy Nuts, a recent addition offering speed and air-time sensations, Le Totem, Le Train de la mine (The Mine Train), and Le Splash, a water attraction. Le Cyclone is also mentioned as a thrill ride.
For children, the park has many suitable attractions such as Les Tractos Rigolos (The Funny Tractors), Les Grenouilles (The Frogs), Les aventures de Papéo (The Adventures of Papéo), and Le Valador, as well as a classic attraction like La Chenille (The Caterpillar) for their first thrills.
Family attractions include La Grande Roue (The Ferris Wheel), offering a panoramic view of the park, Les Tasses (The Teacups), Les Montgolfières (The Hot Air Balloons), and Le Circuit 24 where you can drive small vehicles. The park also has an aquatic area with a paddling pool and slides, which is particularly popular in the summer. A calm river, the Rivière Enchantée (Enchanted River), offers a quieter ride. New features are regularly added, such as a drop tower announced for 2025.
Park's Target Audience
As its name suggests, Papéa Parc targets a wide audience, from children to adults. The range of attractions is balanced to appeal to all age groups, allowing families to spend a day together where everyone will find something to enjoy. The attractions for children are numerous and secure, while the thrill rides target an audience seeking adrenaline. The park attracts visitors from the Le Mans region and beyond, thanks in particular to its ease of access. It also offers adapted rates for groups, associations and works councils, highlighting its vocation to welcome different types of visitors. The general atmosphere and the variety of activities reinforce its positioning as a local family park.
