Mandoria
If you follow park news on Park Trips, you know that Poland has become the new coaster eldorado in just a few years. But amidst the outdoor giants, a unique project was born in 2021: Mandoria. More than just a simple leisure center, an entire city frozen in the year 1521 has risen from the ground in Rzgów. A look back at the story of a bold gamble.
The Origin: A monumental project born from commerce
The history of Mandoria is inseparable from the Ptak family, textile magnates in Poland. Owners of "Ptak Fashion City," one of the largest wholesale trade centers in Europe, they wanted to diversify their offering and propose a major tourist destination capable of attracting visitors from all over Central Europe.
The initial idea? To create a theme park that would fear neither Polish snow nor autumn rains. The "City of Adventures" concept was born: a 100% indoor park, but treated with the quality and theming standards of the world's greatest parks.
The Concept: Journey to 1521
Unlike many indoor parks that settle for painted walls, Mandoria has pushed detail to the extreme. The park is designed as a Renaissance merchant city.
The storytelling is simple but effective: we are in the golden age of discoveries. Visitors wander through a river port, explore market squares, and discover period banks. Each attraction is integrated into a building that seems to come straight out of the 16th century. It is this visual consistency that has been the strength of the project since its inauguration in July 2021.
The Evolution: From family city to Coaster park
At its opening, Mandoria already offered around twenty attractions, including the famous Merkant and Mroczny Dwór (Poland's only coaster in total darkness). But the park didn't stop there.
- 2022-2023: Expansion continues with the addition of Carrara, a motorized coaster by Mack Rides, strengthening the offering for young adventurers.
- 2024-2025: Stepping it up. With the arrival of Aquila, a Family Launch Coaster from Vekoma, Mandoria proves that an indoor park can offer sensations worthy of outdoor parks. This is a major turning point for their brand image.
Why Mandoria is a model of its kind?
What impresses is the "Family First" strategy:
- No frustration: Almost all attractions are accessible to adults. You aren't there just to watch your children have fun; you live the adventure with them.
- Quality manufacturers: Calling upon Mack Rides, Gerstlauer, or Vekoma for an indoor park shows a real desire to offer a smooth and safe experience.
- A Resort in the making: Located at the crossroads of Poland's major motorways, Mandoria is only the first phase of a much larger project that could, eventually, include outdoor areas and accommodations.
