Hansa-Park
Located in Sierksdorf, Germany, directly on the shores of the Baltic Sea, Hansapark presents itself not only as a major amusement park, but also as a true resort offering a complete stay experience. The only German theme park directly by the sea, it combines the excitement of rides with the charm of a seaside resort and immersion in varied thematic worlds, thus attracting both local visitors and tourists.
History and Development
The history of Hansapark dates back to 1973, when a Legoland park opened on the site. However, this first incarnation was short-lived, and in 1977, the park was resold to become "Hansaland". The concept was then reoriented towards a more traditional amusement park. In 1987, the park was renamed Hansa-Park, marking the beginning of significant development and the gradual introduction of themes related to the Hanseatic League, a medieval commercial alliance. Over the decades, the park has continuously invested in major new attractions, notably spectacular roller coasters and water rides, while developing its thematic zones. An important turning point was the opening of the Hansa-Park Resort am Meer in 2007, adding on-site accommodation and strengthening its resort status. The development of thematic zones, representing cities of the Hanseatic League, continued, shaping the park's cultural and historical identity.
Offering: Park, Accommodation, and Activities
Hansapark's offering is diverse. The heart of the resort is the amusement park itself, spanning 46 hectares and offering around thirty attractions, including internationally renowned roller coasters, refreshing water rides, rides for children and families, as well as shows and entertainment. The park is divided into several thematic zones, such as the Hanseatic League in Europe, Viking Land, or the Wild West, each contributing to an immersive experience.
Beyond the park, Hansapark offers accommodation with the Hansa-Park Resort am Meer. This holiday village consists of modern apartments and holiday homes, some of which offer sea views and are equipped with saunas, allowing for a comfortable stay just a short walk from the beach and the park.
The resort also offers various dining options, from quick snacks to themed restaurants. Shops allow visitors to find souvenirs and various products. Although the amusement park is the main activity, having on-site accommodation and direct access to the beach enriches the overall resort experience.
The Surroundings
One of Hansapark's major assets is its privileged location on the Baltic Sea coast, in the Schleswig-Holstein region. This location offers visitors the opportunity to combine a visit to the park with exploring the region's charms. The historic city of Lübeck, a UNESCO World Heritage site with its distinctive medieval architecture, is located nearby and is an interesting cultural destination. Other coastal towns with their pleasant beaches and promenades, such as Timmendorfer Strand or Neustadt, are easily accessible. The surroundings also offer opportunities for outdoor activities, such as swimming, water sports, or walks along the coast. The proximity of the Baltic Sea adds a seaside dimension to the Hansapark experience, allowing visitors to enjoy both the park's attractions and relaxation by the water.
