Europa Park
Europa Park is managed by the Mack family. This family began building vehicles in 1780, then circus caravans in 1880, and roller coasters since 1921. Franz Mack took over the company in 1958 with his brothers to turn it into Mack Rides, as we know it now. When Franz and his son went to the United States in 1972, they returned with a very strong desire to create an amusement park in Germany that would become a showcase for the models they manufacture.
The amusement park opened in 1975 on 16 hectares. It quickly won over its audience with 250,000 visitors in the first year, then 700,000 in the second, reaching one million in 1978.
A hotel offering quickly complemented the resort to allow guests to spend a few days there, with 5 hotels.
Since the end of November 2019, the resort also includes an indoor water park called Rulantica.
The amusement park is the second most visited in Europe after Disneyland Paris and ahead of Efteling.
