Disneyland
Disneyland, or originally Euro Disneyland, is a theme park at Disneyland Paris in Marne-la-Vallée, France. This park opened on April 12, 1992, being the first of the resort's 2 parks. Conceived and built by the teams at Walt Disney Imagineering, its layout is quite similar to Disneyland Park in California and Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida. Spanning a little over 56 hectares (the 2nd largest Disney park based on the original after Shanghai Disneyland Park), this park is dedicated to fairy tales and Disney characters. In 2016, the park welcomed approximately 8.4 million visitors, making it the most visited theme park in Europe and the 13th most visited in the world.
The park's symbol is Sleeping Beauty Castle, a replica of the castle from the 1959 Disney animated film.
