Welcome to Alton Towers Waterpark, a tropical oasis located within the famous Alton Towers Resort in Staffordshire, England. Attached to the Splash Landings Hotel, this indoor and outdoor water park offers a change of scenery with its themed decorations and numerous aquatic attractions for all ages. Whether you are looking for thrills or relaxing moments with the family, the Waterpark promises an unforgettable day of water and entertainment.

A Dive into Aquatic History

The history of Alton Towers Waterpark begins with the expansion of Alton Towers Resort. Following the opening of the Alton Towers Hotel in 1996, plans were drawn up for a second hotel including a water park. Initially planned to be called Splash Landings, the water park's name was changed to Cariba Creek at the beginning of 2003. The park opened on June 1, 2003, simultaneously with the new hotel. Originally, access was exclusively reserved for guests of the resort's hotels. It was not until 2004 that the water park opened its doors to all visitors, for an entry fee. The name Cariba Creek was gradually replaced by Alton Towers Waterpark between 2011 and 2012, a change that was part of a global renaming process within the resort.

Attractions for All Aquatic Desires

Alton Towers Waterpark is full of attractions designed to entertain young and old alike. Among the most notable, the Master Blaster Water Coaster offers a unique experience of aquatic roller coasters, propelling visitors through thrilling ascents and descents on a 208-meter course. For speed enthusiasts, Rush 'N' Rampage offers fast slides ending in the Splashdown Pool. The Flash Floods are outdoor slides for those who want to get some fresh air (accessibility depending on the season and weather conditions).

The park also has quieter and more interactive spaces. Lagoona Bay is the main tropical-themed pool with water cannons and waterfalls, ideal for a relaxing swim. Calypso Creek, a slow river, invites you to relax by gently floating on a buoy. The youngest will have fun in the Little Leak, a shallow paddling area with suitable games. The Wacky Waterworks Treehouse is an interactive structure on several levels with more than 70 aquatic elements, such as water cannons and a giant bucket that overturns. Finally, the Bubbly Wubbly Pool and Volcano Springs are bubbling pools for relaxing in a warm atmosphere, some parts of which are located outdoors.
