Parc du Bocasse continues its transformation. Between celebrating a symbolic milestone for its flagship attraction, deploying new immersive experiences, and preparing for its historic anniversary, the Norman park is asserting a strategy of moving upmarket, focused on theming and developing its own creative identity.

Orochi: The 100,000-cycle milestone passed for the suspended coaster

Inaugurated on July 1, 2021, Orochi remains one of Parc du Bocasse's major investments. As the first Suspended Family Coaster from manufacturer Vekoma to be installed in France, this suspended roller coaster quickly established itself as the site's star attraction.

The park officially celebrated passing the milestone of 100,000 cycles (runs) completed by the train since its launch. To mark this event, a limited edition of collector's t-shirts was offered to visitors.

While the attraction maintains excellent smoothness and its appeal remains intact — resulting in queues that fill up mainly at the end of the day — the area and the queue line could still use a few additional animations or decor elements to perfect the overall experience.

New for 2026: Jules Verne-esque Immersion and Viking Thrills

Pendulonium: First Wild Swing and upcoming immersive queue

The park welcomes its very first Wild Swing (designed by manufacturer ART Engineering), named Pendulonium. The attraction offers dynamic swinging movements and accessible yet surprising thrills, capable of impressing both the youngest visitors and adults, while making riders want to compare the experience with existing XL models.

Although the attraction is already accessible, its queue line is currently being finalized. The park is preparing a Jules Verne and Steampunk-inspired environment:

  • A crossing on metal footbridges suspended over a pool of water.
  • A journey through the heart of a themed cave, enhanced with water features, a waterfall, and dedicated lighting effects.

Kraggar: The Viking metamorphosis of the drop tower

Formerly presented as a raw structure reminiscent of funfair installations, the park's launch tower has benefited from a complete retheming under the name Kraggar.

Integrated into a meticulously crafted Viking universe, the structure is now hidden by imposing scenery. This scenographic choice offers two major advantages:

  • A visual build-up of tension: Visitors in the queue line can no longer directly see the ride in progress from the outside, reinforcing the element of surprise and suspense.
  • Sound insulation: The scenery helps to dampen and isolate the technical noise of the machinery.

On an operational level, the attraction now offers three distinct programs, the highest level of which offers a particularly intense launch.

Looking back at Bocasstor (2025): Humor and a unique identity

Commissioned during the 2025 season, the Beau Castor attraction confirms its popular success with families. This junior double-drop log flume is seeing steady attendance.

Although the beaver theme is a classic in the amusement park world, the park's management chose to set the ride apart through extensive humorous treatment and numerous nods to the industry:

  • Nods to French parks: Direct references to Tonnerre de Zeus (Parc Astérix), Anaconda (Walygator), Fraispertuis City, and Parc Saint-Paul.
  • Themed puns: Quirky details in the queue line ("Castor Members Only", "CastorElsan", "A day at the Lasc'eaux caves").

This approach is part of Parc du Bocasse's overall desire to develop a unique tone and creative identity to stand out.

Looking Ahead to 2027: Which Zamperla model for the park's 60th anniversary?

Founded in 1967, Parc du Bocasse will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2027. To mark the occasion, management is preparing a major new thrill attraction in partnership with the famous Italian manufacturer Zamperla.

A central technical constraint frames this project: the maximum height limit authorized on the site. To integrate a thrill model while respecting this restriction, the park may need to carry out significant earthworks to embed part of the structure in the ground.

Speculation on the Zamperla model

Considering the requirements of a compact footprint, height restrictions, and the search for thrills, several options from the Zamperla catalog can be mentioned, although some are already present in the region:

  • Air Race: A model offering high acceleration and inversions, but already operated in nearby parks (Bagatelle, Festyland).
  • NebulaZ: Highly visual and popular, but becoming very widespread across the country.
  • Discovery / Discovery Revolution: A high-thrill ride, also present at Bagatelle.
  • A compact Coaster or custom Flat Ride: A recessed installation specifically developed to optimize the available space.

And what about you, what is your prediction for Parc du Bocasse's 60th-anniversary novelty in 2027? Which Zamperla model would you like to see join the park? We look forward to reading your thoughts in the comments!
