After a three-year absence, we were delighted and honored to accept Nigloland's invitation to rediscover the flagship autumn event: Nigloween. The anticipation was high, and our return took place under the best auspices, amidst an enthusiastic crowd from the very first weekend of the school holidays.
Nigloland has always positioned itself as a family-friendly Halloween, far from the horrific atmospheres of some other parks. And it's precisely this mix of enthusiasm, elaborate decorations, and a positive atmosphere that makes Nigloween so unique and endearing. This year, the park has raised the bar. We came to test not only the magnificent decorations, but also a brand-new show, a renovated attraction, and above all, The Metamorphosis of the Werewolf, the experience that promises to be the scariest ever offered at Nigloland. Without further ado, let's dive into the story of our unforgettable day!
A Rich and Joyful Decorative Immersion
As soon as we entered the park, the welcome tunnel set the tone. The promise is kept: Nigloween is a festival of warm colors, smiling pumpkins, and rustic charms. Every year, we notice that the Nigloland teams add new decorations, enriching the atmosphere without ever making it oppressive. The park thus becomes increasingly dense and thematically rich.
Of course, the area around the Haunted Manor is the beating heart of the event, with its gloomy but cute decorations, giant pumpkins, and enveloping fog. But it's the proliferation of cute monsters throughout the park that makes the difference. The atmosphere is festive, not panic-inducing, which is perfect for the youngest visitors.
A clear sign of the event's success is the queues. Despite the impressive crowd, a sign of the park's growing appeal, the atmosphere remains excellent. We would also like to highlight the legendary efficiency of Nigloland's teams: whether on Alpina Blitz or Krampus Expedition, dispatch is on point, minimizing waiting times as much as possible!
Gourmet Delights: The Rocktober Fest and the Witches' Village
Autumn season and Halloween mean comfort and gourmet delights! Nigloland is certainly no exception. For Nigloween, the dining options are enriched.
We were delighted just by walking past the Witches' Village next to Alpina Blitz. This ephemeral village offers a variety of food stalls: waffles, pretzels (including gourmet cheese versions, a delight!), beers, and even a giant barbecue. The theming effort, even for these temporary stalls, is remarkable.
A little further, we discovered the Rocktober Fest, and for cheese specialty lovers, we spotted the perfect place to warm up: raclette! If you fancy a good raclette for autumn, this is where it's at. All these offerings create a warm and very friendly autumn fair atmosphere.
Efficient Waits and Roller Coasters
Our day began with a moral obligation, that of honoring our "godchild": the piece of Krampus Expedition rail we received during its inauguration. It was with enthusiasm that we re-embarked for the raft ride. After only 10 short minutes of waiting, we were in the front row for the morning splash! Even though we got a bit wet, the attraction is aging well, and we even felt it vibrated less than before. A consistently enjoyable classic, even if we still prefer La Pal's version, which offers specific features. But we have our piece of Krampus!
Later in the day, despite the crowds, the speed of the operators allowed us to enjoy Alpina Blitz after only a 15-minute wait. This coaster is aging incredibly well. Maxime noted that it seemed quieter to us than we remembered, and although we felt slight vibrations in the last row, it remains very comfortable and particularly fun. It's an impressive machine that continues to send out trains at an insane pace.
We also enjoyed the Donjon de l'Extrême (Dungeon of the Extreme), which remains an excellent, efficient, and well-themed drop tower. Finally, a quick ride on Spatial Experience was a must: fun, even if it's a bit bumpy, it remains an enjoyable roller coaster, served by equally efficient operators.
The Big Leap into Fear: The Metamorphosis of the Werewolf
This was the attraction Julien dreaded the most! The Metamorphosis of the Werewolf, located just opposite Schlitt’ Express, is the most striking experience of this Nigloween 2025. It’s an interactive show that radically contrasts with the good-natured atmosphere of the rest of the park.
From the entrance, the tension rises. It is clearly stated that the attraction is forbidden for children under 12, which is a first indicator of a change in tone at Nigloland. And indeed, the atmosphere is palpable. We were in a panic even before entering!
The actress managing the entrance is quite impressive, immediately immersing visitors in the atmosphere. The show takes place largely in the dark, playing on stress and the unknown. While the effects are very fast, the overall atmosphere is successful. Julien, terrified, held our arm throughout the experience!
The important thing is that this attraction raises the bar. For a traditionally family-friendly park, offering a more adult and frightening experience is an excellent initiative that helps attract a wider audience. In fact, some children even left crying before the start of the show, proof that the tension is real. It's an absolute must-do experience for thrill-seekers who enjoy light scares: we did it, we were scared, and we came out delighted!
New Features and Renovations: A Park in Constant Evolution
Our visit also allowed us to see how much Nigloland is a park that constantly invests and reinvents itself, even outside of the Halloween season.
We (re)discovered L'Envol (The Flight), the attraction that has been completely redone. The station is splendid, very imposing, and beautifully themed, like everything they do. L'Envol's circuit, with its leaf-shaped gondolas, is very original and visually successful. The only minor drawback is the short duration of the ride; we would have loved it to be extended, perhaps to the side of the Noisette Express.
We also took a ride on the Rivière des Fées (Fairies' River), renovated in 2023. It's a cute and charming water ride, which currently seems to be decorated solely with flowers, but we did spot a few hidden little fairies that you have to look for along the way.
Finally, we had the chance to be the last visitors of the day at the brand new Niglo's House, which opened this year. It's a very successful photo spot, decorated from top to bottom for Nigloween. We were able to greet Niglo and Niglotte in person, magnificent in their Halloween costumes! Even though we didn't have time to do everything, like the Niglo Show, these new features confirm the park's commitment to constantly improving the visitor experience.
The Breathtaking Finale: The Cosmos Night Show
As night and Halloween lights began to take over the park, we witnessed the grand finale: the brand new Cosmos night show. It's a shame that some attractions close a bit early, from 6 PM for some, but it's to better prepare for this big event!
As dusk fell, at 7:45 PM (the time being adjusted according to sunset), the show began. In front of the Ferris wheel, we were invited to look up at the sky. And we were not disappointed.
The show is short, but it packs a punch! The effects are spectacular: light beams, catchy music, and above all, it's 'exploding everywhere'. It's a very high-quality show that concludes the day in a masterful way. It's truly impressive and confirms the upscale evolution of productions at Nigloland.
A Nigloween 2025 That Met Our Expectations
It's in front of the Ferris wheel, our hearts filled with incredible memories, that we conclude this day at Nigloland. We sincerely thank the park for allowing us to discover all the new features of this 2025 edition.
Nigloween remains a great event. The decorations are increasingly numerous and elaborate, the atmosphere is warm and family-friendly, and operations are always just as fast. The new experience, The Metamorphosis of the Werewolf, brings a refreshing wave of thrills that was missing, while the Cosmos show offers a breathtaking finale.
