Our discovery of Tripsdrill, a very good amusement park in Germany lost in the vineyards

Located in Cleebronn, this amusement park is often considered the oldest amusement park in Germany. It opened in 1929. Everything began (as is often the case) with a restaurant. To attract visitors, a mill was built nearby with a slide supposedly causing rejuvenation. In 1957, the park expanded with animals, then in 1960, the first mechanical attraction arrived with a panoramic train. Then the attractions followed one after another, as did the park's expansion.

Today, the park includes 6 roller coasters and many other attractions for the whole family.

The Entrance to Tripsdrill Amusement Park

First pleasant surprise, parking is free. For a park of this size, that's quite appreciable. You then find yourself in front of a pretty stone entrance, then a street surrounded by shops from a bygone era. As if time had stopped, it's super pretty, you'd think you were in a small village. They've managed to keep the charm of the period. Then, as you go further in, the park is beautiful, very green with many shaded areas, which is perfect. The discovery continues with the different zones and the discovery of the first attractions.

Roller Coasters at Tripsdrill

We have 2 favorites in the park regarding roller coasters. Let's start from the bottom of the ranking.

For the youngest, the park offers a kind of ladybug ride called Rasender Tausendfüßler. We did it for the credit, but it remains quite classic.

We continue with a Boblsegh-type course on a snow sled. The queue is nice, and everything takes place in a kind of castle that also houses a log flume ride. The wait there is quite long (do it in the morning upon arrival). The circuit is fun, especially with the small bumps at the end, but it remains quite short. It will suit the whole family, that's the advantage.

Let's continue with the wooden roller coaster, Mammut. From the outside, it looks slow, and once on board, it's the same. Even at the end of the day, it's quite slow. But special mention to the start of the ride, we didn't expect it, and it was more fun. The rest is ultimately quite disappointing.

Let's continue with a Junior Boomerang called Volldampf. The station is decorated like a train station, it's pretty and well integrated with a glass ceiling for bad weather, it's well thought out. The train is very cute, and the ride is nice and ends in the station of the next roller coaster. It's really very enjoyable and family-friendly.

Right next door is Hals-über-Kopf. From the outside, it's very pretty to look at with its decoration and colors. The queue is also well done. Then, you take your seat on a Vekoma suspended roller coaster with an inversion. It's not very high, but it's good, it's very well integrated. It passes over the station of the other spiral roller coaster; it's really a very good roller coaster.

We finish with my favorite in the park: Karacho. It's a launched roller coaster by Gertslauer. Once again, the decoration is successful with a car garage theme. The vehicles are also very well done, and there are many fun details to find. Once seated, it starts in the dark with a few surprises (to see in the video), then the acceleration before a first hill and a circuit that flows really well. There are good changes of direction, a drop into a mini tunnel, in short, it's great!

Other Attractions at Tripsdrill

The park has many flat rides and several water attractions. There's truly something for the whole family, and above all, there's enough to keep you entertained all day long.

Regarding the water attractions, special mention goes to Badewanned Fhart, a log flume ride by Mack Rides. For this ride, you take a seat in a bathtub, it's super fun. The ride is quite long and tells the legend of the Fountains of Youth with local humor that you either like or don't. The ride ends with a nice drop and a very refreshing splashdown.

The raft ride is quite pretty but rather disappointing as you only get a few drops. That's a shame. The entire theme is based on washing machines, featuring all the ancestors of our current machines; it's really amusing to see.

The park also features a wine museum that concludes with a tasting.

Our Opinion on Tripsdrill

Leaving the park, we tell ourselves it's a real shame the park isn't closer. It's truly very pleasant with an affordable price for admission or meals. The diversity of attractions, its roller coasters, and the themes are really very good for a park of this scale.

We'll wait for a new attraction to return, but we'll certainly come back with pleasure.

We can only encourage you to go discover Tripsdrill and the beautiful region surrounding it.
