All the new Disney Parks announcements revealed at D23: The complete guide by destination

The ultimate gathering for fans of the Disney universe has once again delivered its share of announcements and details regarding the development of the group's tourist destinations. Between confirmations of major projects, technical details on vehicle systems, and highly anticipated returns of cult attractions, the Imagineering teams are preparing a deep transformation of several parks. Here is the detailed breakdown of upcoming novelties around the world, sorted by destination.

Walt Disney World Resort (Florida, USA)

Magic Kingdom

  • Villains Land: The expansion dedicated to Disney's greatest villains is taking shape. Centered around a dark forest born from an evil wish, the land will host two major attractions: a thrilling roller coaster winding around Maleficent's lair and a dark ride set in the Magic Mirror universe, beneath the Evil Queen's castle.
  • Piston Peak National Park (Frontierland): The Cars land will feature two attractions. Cars Ridge Run Rally will offer an off-road race equipped with a physical suspension system reacting to the terrain. Alongside it, Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin Along will offer a family ride centered around an impressive animatronic.
  • Carousel of Progress: The legendary attraction will benefit from an update to its scenes (notably the 1980s) featuring the voices of Bryan Cranston and Jamie Lee Curtis. Opening planned for spring 2027.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Tropical Americas: Replacing Dinoland U.S.A., this land will offer three main experiences:

  • Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent: A dark ride in the heart of a Mayan temple featuring an Indy animatronic designed directly from Harrison Ford's likeness.
  • Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto: A family dark ride with no height restriction, retracing Antonio's celebration in the Casita with over 50 animal animatronics.
  • El Carousel de los Animales: A handcrafted carousel featuring 22 animals from Disney and Pixar films.

Expedition Everest: A highly symbolic announcement: work is underway to repair and restore movement to the famous giant Yeti animatronic.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

  • Monstropolis: The land dedicated to Monsters, Inc. will open in phases starting in 2027. It will feature the very first suspended inverted coaster in Disney parks (with a vertical launch to a height of 12 meters in 4 seconds) in the heart of the door factory, as well as a stage show at the Glob Theater featuring an original song by Randy Newman.
  • Dining: The Harryhausen’s restaurant will offer an immersive experience centered around an animatronic sushi chef.

Epcot

  • Journey into Imagination: A major announcement for park enthusiasts: the joint return of the Figment and Dreamfinder characters in a reimagined version of the scenic ride.
  • Spaceship Earth: The central attraction will benefit from a modernization of its scenes and an evolution of its storyline, now focused on the concept of human connection.

Disneyland Resort (California, USA)

Disney California Adventure

Avengers Campus: The Marvel land will double in size by 2028 with the arrival of two attractions:

  • Avengers: Infinity Defense: A major dark ride blending physical sets and immersive projections across Wakanda, Asgard, and New York, facing King Thanos.
  • Stark Flight Lab: A system of two-seat pods manipulated by large robotic arms acting as flight simulators.

Avatar Land: Inspired by the films The Way of Water and Fire and Ash, this expansion will offer a major water attraction on large 30-passenger boats, utilizing multidirectional navigation technology.

Coco: A family water scenic ride will follow Miguel's story one year after the events of the film.

Disneyland Park
