Bagatelle Park is not a park like any other; it is the oldest French amusement park still in operation. To mark its 70th anniversary, we couldn't miss the opportunity to visit and see with our own eyes how this iconic place has evolved. Between the nostalgia of old attractions and the new additions, we take you with us on the story of this emotion-filled day.
A Well-Kept and Renovated Park: Our First Impressions
From our very first steps in the park, one thing positively struck us: the cleanliness and general upkeep of the premises. For a park of this age, that's an excellent point. We noticed that the entrance and the "Raft" area had benefited from a nice renovation, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. We also appreciated the new decorations, especially around the "River Splatch," which bring a welcome touch of freshness. We felt a real desire to preserve the park's charm while modernizing it.
A Whirlwind of Attractions: Our Complete Overview
Of course, we were there for the attractions! Our day started gently with the "Gaz Express," a friendly family mine train. We then followed up with "Les Woodies," sidecars whose decorations we found really successful, and then "Au Galop," a horse carousel that surprised us with its acceleration!
For thrill-seekers, we tested the "Famous Jack," a roller coaster which, we must admit, shakes you up quite a bit and delivers on its promises in terms of adrenaline. Water attractions were a must: the "Raft" gave us a good drenching, as expected, and we found that the "River Splash," the oldest "Flume" in France, had been nicely renovated. Our only small disappointment was finding the "Triops" closed during our visit, one of the attractions we absolutely wanted to do.
The 70th Anniversary Show: Our Big Surprise of the Day
The real highlight of our visit was, without a doubt, the show specially created for this anniversary. For us, it was a magnificent surprise! The show starts in a rather classic way but quickly shifts into a second part full of unexpected effects, quite impressive for a park of this size. We loved the light effects, the staging, the funny story, and especially the very original rock soundtrack. It's a real success that proves Bagatelle still knows how to innovate and surprise its audience.
Our Thoughts on the Future of the Park
While our day was a great success, we had some thoughts on the future of the park. We found the "Baillou" area a bit empty and thought it deserved a new attraction to revitalize it. More generally, for such a significant anniversary, we might have expected a major new attraction to mark the occasion.
We believe that to remain competitive, the park will benefit greatly from continuing to invest in new experiences to attract families and enthusiasts like us.
Our Review of Bagatelle Park in 2025
So, should you (re)discover Bagatelle Park? For us, the answer is a big yes! We had an excellent time. The park has managed to keep its soul while modernizing, and we were impressed by the cleanliness of the premises and the quality of the anniversary show. It's a destination we recommend for a successful family outing. Although we hope for future investments to further enrich the offerings, our visit to Bagatelle leaves us with a very positive memory and the desire to come back and follow its future developments.
